About JEE MAIN: Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main is a national level exam conducted to offer admissions in India’s top engineering colleges and elite universities at undergraduate level. Every year, around 12 to 14 lakh aspirants appear for JEE Main to grab an admission to pursue BE & Btech at IITs (Indian Institutes of Information Technology), NITs (National Institutes of Technology) and CFITs.(Centrally Funded Technical Institutions) across the country. Recent Announcement: From 2019, JEE Mains is to be held twice a year by National Testing Agency (NTA) and the official dates are yet to be announced, but most possibly will be conducted in the months of January and April 2019.

JEE Main has two papers, one is for B.Tech (Engineering) and the other for B.Arch (Architecture)

Here go the JEE MAIN 2018 Application Details:

It is to be notified that JEE Main Application Form for January 2019 session will be accessible from 1st of September 2018 till 30th of September 2018. And, the online registration of JEE Main April 2019 session will start from the 2nd week of February 2019.

Instructions to be followed:

  • You can visit the official website to down the information brochure and read it carefully, to apply please visit the NTA official website.
  • It is instructed that, don’t miss on reading all the instructions, bulletin information and procedure before filling the Application Form.
  • Please ensure that your eligibility criteria is met as applicable for JEE Main, JEE Advanced or participating State Institutions.
  • Aadhar card becomes mandatory.
  • Only one Application Form submission is allowed for each candidate. If multiple applications are submitted then the candidate is liable to be rejected.

Steps To Followed in Filling The Application Form:

Step 1: Fill up the Application Form online, select your Password and kindly note down the system-generated Application Number.

It is mandate to provide all the details during the time of filling application form online and you will have to choose the password and security question asked. After the date is submitted successfully, the application number will be automatically generated, which will be used for both, completing the remaining steps of application form submission and also for future correspondence. You’ll be able to directly login for subsequent logins using the chosen password and respective auto-generated application number.

Step 2: Upload scanned images of your Photograph and also Signature:

  • The scanned photograph and signature images are accepted only in JPG/JPEG formats.
  • Ensure that the photo/image size is greater than 4 KB and less than 40 KB.
  • The signature image size must be less than 30 KB and greater than 1 KB.
  • Photograph image dimension should be only 3.5 cm (width) x 4.5 cm (Height).
  • Coming to the signature image, the dimension should be of 3.5 cm (length) x 1.5 cm (Height) only.

Note: If any modifications or corrections in the particulars, you’ll be able to do that only before the fees payment. Once the payment is done through e-challan, the particulars can’t be edited. So do it carefully!

Step 3: You can pay the examination fee using your debit/credit card or e-challan of ICICI/HDFC/Syndicate/Canara Bank

Note: If you pay the examination fee using your credit or debit cards, the additional processing charges will be applied as show below:

Debit Card: For exam fee up to Rs. 2000: 0.75% + taxes will be applicable and for exam fee more than Rs. 2000: 1% + taxes will be applicable.

Credit Card: The service tax and 1.20% of the examination fee will be applicable.

Note that one the application fee is paid, under any circumstances it will not be refunded (full or partial).

Check out the JEE Main 2019 Eligibility Criteria:

A.Age:Candidates who’re born on or after October 1st 1994 are only eligible to appear JEE Main 2019. In case of SC/ST & PWD category, there is an age relaxation of 5 years to the candidates.

B.Year of Passing and Number of Attempts

  • Candidate should have passed the class 12th or other equivalent examination in the year 2017, 2018 or who are appearing in 2019 to be eligible for JEE MAIN 2019.
  • You’ll be allowed a maximum of 3 consecutive attempts for qualifying in JEE Main.

C.Marks in Qualifying Exams:

You should obtain at least 75% (65% in case of ST/SC) marks in 12th class examination or be in the top twenty percentile in your respective boards.

D.Qualifying Board Exam or Equivalent Exam:

The JEE Main will accept all boards which are under Association of Indian Universities including the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS).

Diplomas which are recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) also make you eligible for the JEE Main 2019.

Note: If you’ve given the first attempt of 12th board examination in 2016, but have repeated the exam to pass in 2017, you will be not eligible for JEE Main 2019.

Here’s the Exam Pattern for JEE Main 2019:

JEE Main Exam Pattern – Paper 1

  • One correct answer awards you four marks and for every incorrect answer, there would be a deduction of ¼ marks.
  • Time: 3 hours would be allotted to complete the paper.
  • For questions left un-attempted, no marks will be deducted.
  • Each question can have only one answer; marking multiple answers will be considered as an incorrect answer and ¼ marks will be deducted.
  • You can answer only once for each question, do not mark multiple answers as it will be considered as incorrect and cost you ¼ mark deduction. Subjects Marks

JEE Main 2019 Admit Card:The hall ticket/admit card of JEE Main 2019 will be released on the official JEE Main website. It’s mandatory to carry the admit card at the examination center or else you will not be allowed to attempt the exam.

So, please follow these steps to download your admit card:

  • Visit the official website of JEE Main.
  • Navigate to the homepage and click on ‘Download Admit card’.
  • Enter your application number, password and security code.
  • After entering the details, click on the ‘Submit’ button.
  • Your admit card will displayed on the screen.
  • Download, save and take a print out of it and carry the same to the examination.


  • Cross-check your admit cards carefully in terms of your name, date of birth, paper, gender, city, test center name, category and state of code.
  • In case of any discrepancy, you should immediately get in touch with the JEE Main Secretariat to get the necessary action taken.

JEE Main 2019 Counseling:Basis of the merit list, the counseling procedure will be conducted. From 2019, the JEE Main is going to be held twice a year so if you appear the exam in January and April, the best score you acquire will be considered. Tentatively, the counseling dates would be released in the first week of July month, 2019. JoSAA will handle the counseling procedure and the entire counseling process is divided into multiple rounds and each round will have a separate selected candidates list.
